Season 2021

Round 1: Jells Park Relays     1/5/2021

Round 1 at Jells Park saw our Men’s 60 team take the silver medals after solid runs from Norm, Gary and Jeff. Our next best performing team was the incomplete Women Div 3 who finished 7th, followed by Men Div 5 (8th) and Men Div 3 (9th). I can’t locate a ladder to confirm but I believe incomplete teams score points this season.

Our fastest runner of the day was Alan with 21:37 while Nicole was the fastest woman with 30:57. The best age graded run of the day was Gary comfortably with 25:16 despite still recovering from injury. A great debut run by Harrison who exceeded all expectations with 23:41 and would have embarrassed the selectors had Matt V not been a late withdrawal. Well done to Matt T for claiming bragging rights over Matt D. Thanks to Adam for defying his doctor’s orders to ensure we filled the Div 5 team ,Thanks again to Scott and Frank Dwyer for volunteering as our club helpers for the event.

Round 2: Lardner Park       22/5/2021

On Saturday a small contingent embraced the fine weather and lush green surrounds of Lardner Park for the 8km cross country where the hills, fences and ditches were as challenging as always. Leading the way was Alan in 29:21 and 89th place. Gary took the silver medal (if there is one?) in the 60+ and led the 60+ team to a comfortable win while our Men Division 3 finished 9th which was a good result. Gary again was a clear winner in age graded club championship.

Round 3: Ekiden Relays - St Annes      - postponed to Saturday August 7

Round 4: Cruden Farm         rescheduled to 10/7/2021

Round 5: Sandown Relays - cancelled
