Adam McCann - first contact
For information on Coaching at Athletics Nunawading
or come along to one of our coaching sessions and have a chat about what we offer depending on your ability, experience and expectations.
Adam has been involved in athletics in some form continuously for around 30 years, all of this time with Nunawading clubs.  He currently has a Level 2 coaching qualification for Sprints, Hurdles and Relays and can coach any running events over any distance.

Training for the summer season usually starts late June and runs through until championships are completed.  Training nights are Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from about 5:30pm with a training program put together for the whole week.
Adam’s coaching sessions are perfect for those starting out in athletics and wanting some guidance on what is required to improve your performance.

Robert Falkenberg

My athletics career started in 1977 under the coaching guidance of the legendry Allan Barlow OAM,

Montreal Olympic Coach. I spent 14 years competing at one of Australia’s premier athletic clubs with

8 of those years at A-Grade level.

I did a 2 year coaching apprenticeship under Allan from 1992 before Allan retired and handed his

squad over to me.

My focus is building efficient running technique with a strong speed influence regardless of the

competition distance. I believe speed is just as important for a distance runner as it obviously is for a

sprinter.

I do not limit myself to any specific age group, all are welcome.

The events I coach are:

Sprints: 100m, 200m, 400m

Middle Distance: 800m, 1500m

Distance: 5,000m, 10,000m, Steeplechase, Marathon
