Brooke Stratton selected for Long Jump

Commonwealth Games - Glasgow 2014, Gold Coast 2018
Brooke is the 2014 Australian Champion Long Jump and won it in style with a Commonwealth Games ‘A’ Qualifier of 6.70m, and again with 7.05m in 2016.

Brooke is 2012 Australian Junior Champion in U20 Long Jump and Triple Jump.
She was selected to represent Australia at the World Junior Championship in Barcelona during July in both Long Jump and Triple Jump. She just missed out on being the Australian Open Long Jump Champion at the titles in April. Brooke is a multiple Victorian Junior Champion and has previously been a member of Nunawading Little Athletics so its great to see her come back to join us to train and use our new track.

Athletics Victoria interviewed Brooke earlier in 2012. If you’d like to watch it, then it is here.

Brooke joins our growing list of ANW World Junior Competitors.

Long time club member, but residing overseas to further his ambitions, Shawn was selected for the Mens Marathon at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow. He previously represented Australia in the 1500m and 5000m at the  2002 IAAF World Junior Championships. Shawn just missed out on Olympic selection in 2012 for the Marathon.

His selection caps a tremendous year of competition including winning the Victorian Junior Championship U17 5,000m Race Walk - breaking Jared Tallent’s U16 Victorian record in the process.
